During the presidency of William V.S. Tubman, he was accused of a role in “The Plot That Failed”,.〔Boley, G. E. Saigbe. Liberia, the Rise and Fall of the First Republic. Raymond Horace, he was charged with sedition and high treason, and jailed and tortured.〔Wreh, Tuan, and William Vacanarat Shadrach Tubman. The love of liberty. 1976.〕 He was eventually pardoned by Tubman He was eventually pardoned by Tubman along with the other leaders, and finally exonerated by President William R.
